Since the days of film, I have loved the entire process of capturing an image and making it come to life. There is nowhere I feel more at home than out in nature with my camera pack on and tripod in hand. Capturing feminine figures, draped in billowing fabric either in water or juxtaposed against the ruggedness of the natural environment I like to bring to life a story, or as I like to refer to it, ‘visual poetry’.
I learnt, studied and honed my skills on film, but these days I like to merge traditional photographic techniques with digital art producing painterly images often described as highly emotive, whimsical and evocative. The whole intent with my art is storytelling, rather than reading words, I invite the viewer to evoke their imagination, engage their deep inner self and life experiences and connect with a story that way.
