Gaye is an award winning artist who is residing in Dungog, she has been exhibiting her art for 30 years with high lights being a finalist in the Norvill Art Prize and Winning CRAG Art Prize 2019. Gaye uses the community and her love of the Australian landscape as her inspiration. Her first solo was at the Hunter Gallery in Maitland and the Gaye joined Rene Brager and Kay Sparkes at Cessnock Regional Art Gallery for a month long exhibition. Gaye spent many hours drawing as a child and mostly works with oils. But now she has tried gouche and mixed media which she loved but her true love of oils always calls her back. Gaye says being a member of Dungog Art Society and being in Dungog itself has helped her expand her paintings ,and in that time she has won more awards in that short time than in the previous 20yrs. Gaye says the members are very positive and share their thoughts, which in turn sees them all working well together.
