Artists Statement

Linzie’s work explores domestic and intimate living spaces as well as the natural environments. She reflects on art history particularly the abstract expressionist and impressionist art movements and their associated artists.

Her latest work explores the fivebough wetlands near where she lives and its Mallee scrub. This subject matter fulfills her interest in colour, paint and the energy of a space as well as how the natural environment can be a metaphor for the human condition. She uses a variety of painting applications and careful observation as well as intuitive processes to inform her colour palette.

Her hope for the viewer is that they feel the energy of the space as well as capture their interest due to the paint application and colour choices.
