Artists Statement

I have been painting for over 20 years now and having a creative mind is just a massive and meaningful part of who I am. Without the opportunity to have my own creative business I would be a square cog in a round hole! Every day brings new ideas and I thoroughly enjoy every part of the process, from just having the smallest kernel of an idea to finishing a great piece.

Over the years many people have collected my work and it’s been incredibly meaningful to create pieces that have been treasured. it’s important to me that I’m creating something highly original and recognisable by my hand in whatever genre that may be.

Great artists past and present who can cross genres are my biggest inspiration. Keeping the creative fires burning and challenging myself is what’s most important to me. Naturally I gravitate towards colour and texture and creating works with the palette knife and brush and making works come alive on a flat surface is both satisfying and exciting!
